Delete your data

Last updated 16 October 2026

The app has no accounts, and almost everything it creates stays on your phone. Here is what exists, where, and how to delete it.

What we hold on our servers

  • Nothing from your scans or chats. Photos and messages pass through our server to Google Gemini and are not stored by us.
  • Feedback you chose to send on a result, without the photo and without anything that identifies you. We cannot link it to you, so we cannot find yours; it is deleted automatically after 12 months.
  • Support messages, if you wrote to us. We can delete these on request.

Delete data on your phone

  • One scan: open it from your history and tap Delete, then confirm.
  • One chat: delete it from your chat history in the app.
  • Everything: delete the app. This removes all your scans, photos, chats, reminders and settings from the phone.
  • Backups: copies in your phone's own backup are managed in your Apple or Google account settings.

Stop sending photos

In the app's Settings, turn off sharing photos and messages with Google Gemini. Scanning and chat then stop working until you turn it back on. Everything else in the app keeps working.

Delete a support conversation

Email contact@theapptor.com from the address you used to contact us, and ask us to delete your messages. You can also use the support form with the same email address. We delete them within one month and confirm by email.

Other data

  • Analytics and crash reports use a random app ID that we cannot link to you. Deleting the app stops them, and a new ID is created if you install it again.
  • Subscriptions are records held by Apple or Google, and by RevenueCat for us, as long as needed to manage your purchase and for accounting. Cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account; deleting the app does not cancel it. Email us if you want us to help with your purchase records.
  • Photos sent by versions 1.x were archived under random file names until 16 October 2026. They cannot be linked to a person, so we cannot find yours. See the privacy policy.
